Gallowstree Common Play Area Refurbishment
The Parish Council has applied for a grant from the Aviva Community Fund for the Gallowstree Common Play Area Refurbishment Project (see progress chart below) and now need to get as many votes as possible. Please help.
This is the link for the Aviva grant application. It would be greatly appreciated if you could vote and also encourage friends and members of your family to do so.
If you have already registered to vote on the Aviva Community Fund website, you can simply sign in with your email address and password, otherwise you will need to follow a simple and straightforward registration procedure first. When you have signed in, enter 'play area' in the top box on the page and 'Gallowstree Common' in the area box and our project should appear in first place. Click on 'See more' to be taken to the page on which you can cast your votes.
We have until midday on 18 November to get the votes.
The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Most of the Parish of Kidmore End is already included in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The Council would like to see the AONB extended to include all of the parish.
A New Structure for Local Government?
As you may have read in the Summer 2016 edition of the Outlook newsletter from SODC, the country and district councils are considering changing the way that local government in Oxfordshire is organised, from the existing two-tier arrangement to three or four unitary authorities. You can find out more about these proposals as they develop at www.southoxon.gov.uk/devolution.
There has been a rise in the number of burglaries in the area, especially where there is building work being carried out. Thieves seem particularly interested in (power) tools.
